Well what can I say about 2021 other than in a lot of ways it was worse than 2020. We had everything thrown at our family. 4 of us got Covid but luckily not bad enough to be hospitalised.

My Dad had a massive stroke and spent 3 months in a rehabilitation centre leaving my Mum home alone for the first time in her life, she not only got on with life admirably but got loads of work done on their house so that when Dad was ready to come home the house was ready to have him back I am so proud of them both not many people would be able to deal with this and come through the other side let alone in their 80's!

"I bought this for my Dad to hang in his room in the Rehab unit as we weren't allowed to visit due to Covid restrictments"

We nearly became grandparent's but sadly thing's didn't work out it would have been great to have a little person in our lives but I'm sure next time everything will go smoothly.

They say you can expect to be made redundant 3 times in your working life, my husband was made redundant 3 times in 5 years, 2 of these were due to Brexit and Covid causing lots of changes worldwide he now has a job he loves with people he really likes so after all that it has ended well.

Lots of nice things happened in 2021 too our youngest son moved into his first home with a mortgage, he's working very hard with his girlfriend to make it their perfect home, they have had quite a few problems with drains and sewage .... (UGGGHH) but they always have smiles on their faces and turn every negative into a positive.

We celebrated my husband's 6 perfect 10's at the beginning of December with a long weekend in London with lots of surprises ( more about that in a future post) and a fabulous family meal at a local pub, there were only 12 of us as 2 had the horrible cold that was going around and the other 2 had to socially distance due to Covid but we had a great time and met our nephew's partner for the 1st time too and he is lovely!

We are now the very proud parents of Ernie an 11 week old Cocker Spaniel which our son's bought us both as a combined 60th birthday present ( even though mine is nearly a year away - the same day Ernie turns 1 )

The last 2 years have been full of trials and tribulations but all our family have come through it stronger, our boys and their long term girlfriends are as solid as ever, everyone is as healthy as can be and all our jobs are going well and we end the year with 4 dogs in the family.... what better way to move on into 2022 !! Wishing everyone everywhere the happiest and healthiest year ahead, we are now into longer days and Spring is just around the corner - look out for the colours in life and let red make your heart sing too xx
